Return of the restrictions against the Omicron variant

In response to the Omicron variant, the Japanese government announced the suspension of foreigners’ entry into Japan from November 30 until 1 month, including short-term business visitors, foreign students, and technical trainees who were allowed to enter Japan on an exceptional basis since November 8.

Japanese nationals returning to Japan from countries where the Omicron strain has been confirmed will also be required to quarantine themselves at designated facilities.
